“Love art in yourself, and not yourself in art.” – Konstantin Stanislavsky
Sixty-Six Theater Co. was born in Los Angeles, California. Paul Rush, Maggie Cleary and Coleman Kelly came together inspired by a shared desire to engage Southern California audiences with honest, thought-provoking theater. It is the shared experience between actor, and audience member that ignites the members of Sixty-six Theater Co; believing that all art comes from a place of internal honesty and vulnerability. It is the mission of Sixty-Six Theater Co. to engage the audience with an experience that is equal parts entertaining, as it is thought-provoking.
Sixty-Six Theater Co. is dedicated to producing published plays, along with original works that will be created through the new writer’s program. A program where new work will be generated in a time constrained environment, along with other parameters, to propel the writers to further expand their creative boundaries.
Sixty-Six Theater Co, West Hollywood’s only resident ensemble company is located at the historic Monroe Theatre. We stage contemporary plays that tell authentic, humanely penetrating stories. Our goal is to leave our audience, thinking, feeling, and questioning.
